Two rats paw over
A nearly-spent bottle of
Anti-bac hand gel. 

I was always taught
That “all vermin be germin’”. 
I must pause for thought.

Form orderly, watery queues;
The locks will soon lift.

Tough Crowd

New month, new mooring:

A teal-painted narrowboat 
Dubbed ‘The Gentle Sloth’. 

“My favourite sin
Bar ‘tender envy’,” I joke
To the nearby geese. 

Not one of them honks. 
A Twix wrapper tumbles by. 
Think I prefer pride.
